dual boot vista xp without vista disc My new laptop has come with vista preinstalled and a recovery disc.
I want to make a new partition (have partition magic 8 and assume can do from its own environment)
and load my xp sp2 on it
AND BE ABLE to access each operating system.
.....................
i AM WONDERING IF SOMEHOW i CAN GET SOFTWARE TO COPY THE "MBR" for vista, and reinstal it after xp has loaded and corruted it.
I am wondering if after installing xp a commercial dual boot program would take over the function of the mbr as they say "will recognise vista" without this business of reinstalling the vista one.
Sorry for the gaps in my knowledge, posts or emai help appreciated.
