I personally haven't heard of playing around with your chipset drivers to dual boot, if you go for the extra hard drive option you won't need to touch you chipset drivers. However if you direct me to where you found this information I might be able to help.

When you use two drives like I have you essentially have two PCs with each hard drive owning the PC when you choose to boot from it.

If you know anyone you can borrow a Vista DVD from just so you can access the recovery console that would certainly help.

That sounds good, but doesn't the Chipset drivers have something to do with the Motherboard?

I apologize for my confusion on this. It's just that someone said that the Motherboard has to have the appropriate Chipsets to be able to recognize/read the XP drivers and stuff.

Perhaps so, perhaps not. I just want to be sure about this before I spend a lot more money on this.

I had posted some related information regarding this in a reply within this thread.

Acquiring a Vista DVD is still a sticking point and I hope that I can resolve that soon.

However, If I do install a 2nd hard drive and If, because of that, I do not have to install any Chipset drivers, or have to make any changes to my Motherboard, Bios or anything else within my existing hard drive, then would the need for a Vista DVD be essential?

Hello Charles, sorry about the short reply it was a bit late in the night for me ,have you got the 32bit or 64bit version of Vista and/or XP?

If they are both the same for your board and processor there shouldn't be any problem. You can just install the hard drive as if you were doing a fresh installation on a new system with your XP. You can just connect the hard drive set to boot from it in your bios and install as usual.

Either that or we would be back to the same problem of needing the Vista DVD. If you need a small guide in showing you what you need to do just give me a bit of time and I'll put it together for you.

Yes, they are both 32 bit so this is sounding better and better.

It's going be a little bit before I can get another HD but I think at this point I'm going to persue that option.
