Windows 7 operating system includes an amazing feature that I really love. It’s called Device Stage and it enables the user to instantly view and manage all the external devices attached to the system.
How to Use Device Stage
To view the digital devices you have connected to your system, go to Start > Devices and Printers.
This will launch an organized display of all of the devices connected to the system. If you are connecting a device for the first time, you will receive a notification that will give you an option to gather device information from the Internet. When selected, this will automatically keep the device updated with the latest drivers.
After plugging it in, you will see your device on the Taskbar. You can hover over it and you will see an image display of the device along with some information about it. You may also right click on the device and have access to the control panel that enables you to manage the device settings and customize preferences.
It is the decision of the device manufacturer if their product will be compatible with Device Stage. For the user to identify whether or not the device is compatible with Device Stage, just plug it in and see if Device Stage opens up. This new feature is a great tool to help you get your devices working without installing drivers.
