Desktop Icons

I am running Windows 7 with IE8. How can I get the actual website icons as shortcuts on my desktop? I know how to create the shortcuts by dragging and dropping from the address bar to the desktop, but my icons now are the default IE shortcut with the website address text. Is there a setting in IE8 or is it possible that it is not supported?
