Current State of Vista?
 

I am trying to find out what the current status of vista is. A week or two ago I had seen some rumors that they were having to redo major portions of the code and it might be seriously delayed. Then I heard Microsoft deny it. I have been out of the loop since then, so it would be great if anyone could update me on the current status of the project.

I suspect I will be holding off on upgrading to vista anyways. I did not go from 98 to XP until 2 years ago.

Although MS won't admit the reason, they are holding off until Jan/Feb of 2006 now. Beta 2 Build 5308 is pretty nice, i am impressed with it so far, but it is glitchy at times and has a lot of stalls/black screens which require a vistit to the new task manager and back to correct. I don't want them to rush, just get it right and it will be the first MS software to impress me in a long time :)
