Default Can someone help me with Outlook issue??

my uncle is using outlook express at his office for his main email. All of sudden his email is locking up, and taking up 100% of the cpu usage (as per task manager said). I plan on reinstalling outlook express but we need to save emails that he had already downloaded from the isp. Can anyone tell me a program that will retrive the email/ or which file to save in the outlook express folder.

Any help wud be appreciated.

Open Tools --> Options and click on Mail Setup tab. Click the Data Files button and there you can see the folder where your mails are saved. Make a backup of those files and you will be able to restore them when you reinstall the program.

I dislike Outlook. I think I need a Outlook for dummies book. Half the time I fumble and luckly stumble on to what I need to do in the program. I know Outlook has alot of great features. I just end up reading my email online. Does anyone know of a quick tutorial online for Outlook?

By default Outlook Express stores files in this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\"Your User Name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{E796XX}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

"Your user name" = Administrator or what ever username with which you log into your PC.

All the files are stored in .DBX format.

If you can't find the files in this location you can search for *.DBX files on your PC from Programs -> Search -> For files or folders -> type *.DBX

Once you find these files back-it up, and import them once you re-installed outlook express.
