bsod before XP pro starts

I get the following:
STOP: 0x0000007E(0xC0000005,0x804E5E5F,0xF78CABBC,0x78CA 8B8)

XP tries to load, and I can use ctl-alt-del to see Task Manager display processes are loading. But the bsod occurs before it finishes. The error message claims a dump was created, but I can't figure out how to access that.

I tried an MS-DOS disk to get a DOS prompt, but it won't display the C: directory so I could look for the dump.
