Broadband costs falling? I'm sure prices are very different here from Europe or USA, but is the broadband cost falling rapidly as here? I used to pay $30 per month for 512kbps. Now I pay the same for 2,5 Mb. I hope this trend continues untill we can get free broadband access in exchange for ads or something similar, like with dial-up. |
I agree with you. Like 6 months back, you had to pay like 50AU$ for 512kb broadband, but now only like 20$, which is really cheap. |
Same in the UK. I used to pay £15pm for a 2.5Mb connection, now I only pay £12. Not a huge difference but I got free ADSL modem and connection etc so I was happy with £15pm, so £12pm even is better. But 8Mb is slowly creeping in to be the norm over here so I'm hoping that my ISP will offer my that for a good price (fingers crossed smiley) lol |
That is pretty good. You can also get in Australia, a free ADSL modem, if you take a 24 month contract from almost all ISP's. |
Yes.I agree that broadband price is decreasing rapidly. It's about 50% less since it's introductory price. The more the demand the lesser the price. That's the law of demand and supply.:) |
I dont think it is due to that. I think that the broadband prices are going down because of the newer and better broadband available now. |
Not right now but probably the costs will fall in the future Yeah broadband might be falling in Europe but over here in Canada they seem to be going up... well a little bit anyways. Not for the fast services though, but only for the slow ones, the ISP's apparently are saying that since their costs are rising it is necessary to increase the prices. But then again, it might be because of the amount of downloading we do (not to mention the music...) However, recently in Toronto they are going to launch a city wide wi-fi network, which is supposed to be really cheap (which seems to be the trend everywhere else), but the wi-fi network is just news right now, I hope it becomes a reality anytime soon... and if it does then I guess costs are falling |
Wow, that's a first. Broadband prices growing. I didn't know it could be possible anymore. |

Oh k. Why would anybody block bit-torrent? And also, i've heard about ISP's raising costs for dial-up, but this is the first time i am hearing about broadband costs rising.:( |
