Can you help me restore erased boot.ini file? I'm on laptop, so hdd is internal. What tool might boot and restore this file?

are you sure it is missing? does the computer boot? if so: right click my computer, go to advanced tab select "startup and recovery" then choose edit under that menu to view your boot.ini
