That is a new one on me. I am sure someone will answer your question. I don't know much about the hardware side of things. Welcome to the forums... We are so glad to have you! |

removing the battery should work, it is the only thing that allows your bios/cmos to hold data, without power.. there is nothing. Unplugging your tower and removing the battery for ~5min should do the trick. |
hello people, the hardware side is my strong point!! open up ur tower, on the motherboard u will find the bios chip, beside it is a jumper, pull the jumper off, then put it back on. now ur password is reset..this will work on any computer.. |

Remove your Laptop Li-ion battery module. Then remove the RTC battery for at least 15min. Replace RTC, and boot the computer ONLY with the AC-Adapter. Now you can access BIOS, and set hard drive as second boot device. |

Be sure to have the unit COMPLETELY dis-powered... Unplug not only the bios battery, but the system battery, and any external power. Then hit the power button a couple of times to be sure all the caps are drained. I don't know for sure, but I once had that problem with an old HP, and found that to be my solution. Good luck. |
Read Again.... look what i wrote AGAIN!... it says all comp. and yes that means laptops as well... |
i beliewe ur wrong my laptop doesint have any jumpers, but taking off the litle battery will work :icon_neutral: |
