Best Wireless router Guys... i just bought D-Link 524... happy with it till now, what are your views on it ? The pick was going to be between Dlink and Linksys so went for this one, since i was getting an excellent deal. What are your comments ? Which is the best router acc. to u ? |
All the wireless routers are soo similar and have similar specs, that there isnt a "Best" router. I personally like Linksys(Cisco) products. |
I like D-Link and i think u have done the right thing, cause Dlink is a bit cheaper, bt does the pretty same thing as other routers. |
I use a Linksys Wireless-G SpeedBooster router and have never had any trouble with it, except for my Dell desktop upstairs (fairly far away) occasionally using internet connection, but its easily re-connectable. |
I have got a question. I am planning on buying a D-Link DSL502T which is a ADSL Modem. But at the moment i have Dial Up, will i be able to use that modem for Dial Up? Will it still work properly? |
I've never used D-link, and maybe its a million times better, but I'm going to stick with Linksys as it was a pain in the ass to set up anyway, and it works great. :) |

I've never heard of Linksys. Is it available in Australia? |
Presumably it's global, I suppose you can usually import it? Quote:
I know that nearly all web hosts brag about how they've got the biggest, fastest, most expensive Cisco routers on the planet....so obviously they're good but I hadn't realised that Linksys might be related? |
Linksys WRT54G series is the bomb!!!! They are hands-down, the best wireless routers out there!!! Why? They run on Linux and being so, a lot of hobbyist have created alternative firmware distributions that allow you all kinds of amazing functionality, e.g. boost the signal 10x over, QoS for reliable VoIP, use "alternative" channels, WDS, VPN, etc. etc.... All these megabucks features on a 60$ wireless router... can't be beat... It has become the de facto standard for Internet Cafe operators and small community WiFi networks. To find out more about the WRT54G series, check out Wikipedia |
