Best motherboard?
 

Hello, i want to get a new computer system. Im thinking of getting it custom built by a friend so all i have to do is buy the bits.

Can anyone advise whats the best motherboard for working and gaming on. I want it to be able to accept a 3.4 P4 and be able to let me play games with my Nvidia Graphics 6800 that i want.

I know the spec isnt anything major with whats out today but i wasnt sure what motherboard will go with that spec.

How much are u willing to spend on the motherboard, and on the whole comp?

Probably something along the lines of ASUS P4P800SE Socket 478 Intel 865PE ATX Intel Motherboard would be under $100 and suit you well.

On second thought you might need a 775 socket motherboard instead of 478.

Of course you could go with SiS chipset and save quite a bit, but 865 on Asus has been extremely stable for me.

Just stick with a good solid manufacturer and you'll be alright.
