I have to ask a obvious question here, are you installing Vista and Fedora on separate partitions or hard drives?

Install Vista first then Fedora as well.

Grub or Lilo are usually very good at booting between the multiple operating systems. I do not have any experience of dual booting Vista and a Linux distro, but have been successful with XP and Linux on numerous occasions...
