I have always found that searching the manufacturers support website is the best for finding manuals or drivers etc.. Failing that Google is your friend.
If it will not play dvd's it may be it has a cd burner in it. Replace it with a dvd burner.
This site may be of some use to you if you want spare parts for it as well...
