to gain performance and security !!
if u dont use windows to share files /printers ect
then disabling thes options
will stop windows 'looking for other computers also sharing on the network'
and also stop ur windows offering these servaces to others (more secure =])
over ur network
if u do not have a 'network'
eg if u use 1 computer that conects to the internet .
u shuld DISABLE the printer and file shairing NOW!!
