I was going to get a replacement from Samsung under the warranty, however, it would have been a 'refurbished' monitor and since mine was only 28 days old I wanted new. So I went back to the store I bought it from and harassed them until they replaced it with one off their shelves. Then the new monitor did do the same thing after a few weeks.
When you first plug in the monitor it works and everything seems okay, so you don't use the disc that comes with it to install. However, I asked an IT guy at work & he said to use the disc and install the monitor drivers. The monitor may be looking for something and can't find it. Since I installed the drivers I have not had a problem, touch wood.
Try this and see what happens.
