People still bought PS2s when they came out at $399 they were overpriced. If people are willing to spend $1000 to get Xbox 360, i don't see why PS3 can't sell at $500 retail, if they do a smart marketing (read plan a shortage just like Microsoft did) campaign.

I don't like BS like that, but that's how life works.
