I currently have a 19" LCD samsung monitor,
check it out and it is definatly more than enough to play the games you listed, i've played HL2, NFSMW and GTASA recently and they all play at maximum resolution/detail without a hitch. Mind you that has partly to do with your video card, a 128+ card is recommended for such activities
