Compaq R3000 and WD Scorpio Blue 160gb Hard Drive

Hello, I know this is an old thread but I just bought a new Scorpio Blue hard drive for my Compaq R3120US notebook and it wouldn't recognize it. It took me 5 days but I finally noticed that there was a pin adapter on my old hard drive and once I pulled it off and put it on the new one, it took right off. I just loaded Windows 7 RT Editon 2009 on the new hard drive and am playing around with it right now trying to make an old notebook come back to life. I hope this helps anyone with this problem.
