150 Gig Raptors are now available About time! I have two of the 74 gig raptor drives and have really loved using them. The speed and realiability have been excellent. Only problem is I use up a lot of space, so they are really relegated to core sys functions. Now I will at least be able to expand a bit. Western Digital has announced the 150 gig raptors. While it is not 300 gigs, it will still be a nice upgrade. Perhaps I can add a pair of these down the road to give me some more high-speed room. The only concern I have right now is price. |
wow, i have got only 20 gb in disk, so think how is that if u got full 150 gb in your hd :s |
I dont see much of a difference. If you want a hard drive, then why not just buy a normal one but with like 500GB space, if you need a lot of space!!! |
Raptor hard drives are simply awesome, they are incredibly fast. Of course, for the price of it you can get a 500gb instead of 150, but that depends if you prefer speed over size. |
In my opinion it's always better have have more space than speed. Because 150GB is almost nothing. But 500GB is big, so u can use it and still have enough space left over. |
Raptor hard drives are great, but having an increase of platter speed doesn't always neccessarily help applications... but I'd still prefer to have a raptor in my computer than any other HDD. It's good to here that the storage sizes are increased, but I don't think it would help a lot... I mean you don't need a Raptor hard drive only to hold all your applications. It's all right to have a normal hard drive for most (all basically) applications, since you won't even notice a big difference. Oh well it's good to hear that there's a bigger hard drive, but I'm not sure if a lot of people will be using this... |
The worst thing of Raptors are the heat. I burnt one already, so if anyone here uses one, I STRONGLY advice to get a good hard drive cooler like Antec's one. |
