2k3 server /fax logging - MSR Consulting Forums For The SMB Community

Would this info help?

From another forum URL...

"Hi ...,

To Configure Fax Activity Logging, please follow the steps below:
1.. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, point to Fax, and then click Fax Service Manager.

2.. In the console tree in the left panel, right-click Fax (Local) node, and then click Properties.

3.. On the Activity Logging tab, click to select the Log incoming fax activity and Log outgoing fax activity check boxes, if they are not already selected.

The logs are stored in the following folder by default:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\WindowsNT\MSFax\Activity Log

The file names are InboxLOG.txt and OutboxLOG.txt.

However, in order to let the staff access the Log file, you might have to probably share this folder out and give access rights to everyone and send a notification to the users about the Shared Activity Log.

For incoming transmissions, the location is
%windir%\system32\LogFiles\Fax\Incoming and for outgoing transmissions,
%windir%\system32\LogFiles\Fax\Outgoing. Please pick the latest file, which should be the one that represents the most recently failed operation.
