Right mouse click on
My Computer icon, select
Manage. In the new window on the left hand side select
Disk Management, is your D: drive listed there?
You did have a cdr in the drive, check that out.
The ide cable could be cactus, check that out.
You do not say what cd burning software you are using. If you are using the inbuilt M$ burning app try another as that is crap, there are plenty of good freeware version available...
