Every harddrive and CD DVD has an an 8mb unalotted space. It is called the lead in and is for the installation of meta data if required to be placed on your discs for additional information concerning the data on the discs.
There is nothing you can do about it being there. You see it because you used partiton magic and resized the partition. PM placed meta data on it to relay information that some data may be corrupted/lost because of the resizing. Any program trying to read the data on the disc is instructed to that fact.
To clear the unallotted notice would require a complete format of the entire disc and partitioned prior to the formatting.
