If you can get into "Safe Mode with Networking," do so. From here you can carry out the following.
1. Download Trend's Sysclean:
Trend Micro Damage Cleanup Engine / Template
This is the one you want: "If you are not a Trend Micro customer please download the following file. Sysclean Package 4.5MB"
2. Install into new folder c:\sysclean
3. Download latest pattern file
Trend Micro Pattern Files this is the one you want: Virus Pattern File (Controlled Pattern Release) - 5.396.02
4. Shut down computer
5. Start up computer and run in Safe mode, Command prompt
6. At the blinking cursor type in "cd c:\sysclean" no quotes
7. Once you have switched into the new directory type in "dir" no quotes at the prompt. You may skip this step if you don't want to see what's in the sysclean folder. See the sysclean.com file...that's the one that fires up the beast.
8. At the next prompt type in "sysclean" no quotes
9. You may want to read the content of the pop-up or just tick off the auto-clean box, then tap on "Scan"
10. The pattern file will unravel and the system will take over to clean your computer...top to bottom...including root directory.
Let it do its stuff. It will take some time, depending on how big your drives are...maybe an hour or so.
