mp3 player

there are 3 setting on the player, MSC and MTP and AUTO DETECT. if i set it to MSC and plug it in the computer sees it meaning if i right click on "my computer" it is shown in the drop down window but if i left click "my computer" and go to properties and device manager i see under portable devices- "microsoft WPD filesystem volume driver" with an exclamation point. if i switch to MTP and plug in the player i get the MTP driver failed message and in device manager i get under portable devices-MTP device with an exclamation point. if i set it to auto detect i only get the MTP device with exclamation point. thanks again
