Search Option in Windows

For the last 12 to 14 months, my period of computer usage, I have been using this SEARCH function for over, may be, 1000sof times. Nothing gained.
Today when I went there with your adivce and clicked to uncheck those two boxes, my God, I had a 'vision'.

All the files and folders that are in the pc, together with the ones that were deleted many months ago, in the Recycle Bin, were displayed.

I admire your knowledge and the genrosity in sharing it.

The logic of not presenting this in a simple straight forward manner escapes me. May be I am daft, old man.
