Monitor doesn't work

Sorry, Lurkswithin. I'm new to this forum thing and thought I was posting in the wrong place. Didn't even know I was starting a "Thread". Thanks for responding to my many posts. My system was built for me so I'm not sure what to call it. Let's see...It runs on Windows XP Home. The Motherboard is probably quite old (I've never seen a video adapter attached to a motherboard before), although I have gotten some upgrades. It has 2 hard drives totalling about 160g.
